Hi - I am researching the 'Thompson' family.  I belong to the line of John Thompson and Margaret Gallon.  At least that is what I have gathered.  Their son 'Hugh Thompson' would be my 2nd great grand father.  He had a son called 'Arthur' and that is the line that I belong to. My grandfather used to speak about the older 'Thompson's' and how they were tall individuals who had a long life span.  I am always looking for more information and am willing to share information that I have.  Heather

Hi, Heather—

Is this the Arthur Thompson who was married to Sarah Craig?

Thanks.

I have a pic of an Arthur Thompson who is in our Thompson line. But there are a couple of different Arthurs.  Do you know what your Arthur looked like?  Would you like to look at the pic?

Bill

Yes, I would like to see what picture you have of Arthur.

Here is a pic I have of an Arthur Thompson (b. 19 Jun 1878) taken in Dalhousie on 24 Jul 1925.  Research I've done since I told you about the pic has the following tentative findings: This Arthur Thompson is the adopted son of Harriet Cummings Thompson who is probably the wife of Oliver Thompson. This Oliver may be the first cousin of your Hugh Thompson. Whether or not this adopted Arthur is actually a Thompson "taken in" by Harriet Thompson, and possibly also Oliver Thompson who may have died by the time Arthur came along, is unknown; this Arthur may also be genetically unrelated to the Thompsons.

Please let me know if you have further thoughts or information about this.

No my Arthur Thompson looks different than this.  His father was Hugh Thompson who came to New Brunswick with his family from New Carlisle.  I will find a picture and send it to you.
