Hi Bill~
I ran across a Marriage Record dated Oct 29, 1795 for James Sherar to a Margaret McA...?  I'm not researching this line.
Folks probably already have it but thought I'd run it though the mill before deleting it from my p.c. just in case : )

That's probably Margaret McVey.

Records from this period are very difficult to find. Could you let us know where you found them?  Perhaps this is a clue to a source previously unknown to most of us.

Thanks for posting this!

Hi Bill~
Found it in the Drouin Collection....St.Andrew's in Quebec identifying as residents of Chaleur Bay.
Opps - heres another for the death of George Thompson 5 Oct 1795.
You want I can attach them here?  Just didn't want to clog up your space : )

Very nice find, TinaMarie! To clarify, this is not the St. Andrew's of New Carlisle, but St. Andrew's of Quebec City.  There may be other nice finds in this register or others in the Quebec City area.

A quick glance at the St. Andrew's of Quebec City register this morning also shows the 13 Jan 1788 baptism of Judge John Gawler Thompson of New Carlisle, along with his twin brother, William Alexander. I also see other names from the Malbay area in Quebec City St. Andrew's register.
